About Shashila
Shashila Perera is a renowned Sri Lankan dancer based in Melbourne, committed to promoting her culture globally. With over 20 years in the dance industry, she has traveled to 22 countries and opened a dance school in Sri Lanka. Shashila teaches dance to children of Sri Lankan descent and Australians, showcasing her versatility in styles ranging from Sri Lankan to Indian classical, jazz, ballet, and more. A proud cultural ambassador, she keeps the essence of Sri Lanka alive through her performances and teachings.
Mission
Shashila Dance Theater provides a platform for individuals to develop and showcase their dancing skills through expert training in various styles, fostering creativity and artistic expression. The academy aims to empower students to pursue their passion, represent Sri Lanka in international performances, and promote its rich cultural heritage globally. By creating a supportive community, the academy inspires and enriches the lives of its students and the dance community.
